Reducing to prevent nuisance
Buildings are equipped with an increasing variety of installations, including mechanical ventilation, air handling units, air conditioning, or a heat pump. Our acoustic specialists advise on reducing installation noise so that building users do not experience noise nuisance.
The type of installation varies per building. Think of mechanical ventilation, central heating boilers, and heat pumps in homes, lifts in apartment buildings, and air handling units and cooling in offices, schools, or hospitals. Based on measurements, calculations, and assessments, our advisors determine which acoustic provisions are necessary to limit installation noise. We often do this in collaboration with the installation advisor.
To reduce installation noise, we advise on solutions at the building level. For example, what floors and walls should a technical room have? In this, our advisors in the field of building acoustics and noise and vibration work closely together. Thus, we also consider the placement of an installation and the sound transmission of a device to the environment.
