Room acoustics affect the comfort of people in a building. We measure and calculate the sound and reverberation in spaces. Based on this, we advise on solutions to create a pleasant acoustic environment for living and working. Or for entertainment: in that case, we speak of hall acoustics.
SOUND AND EXPERIENCE
Room acoustics must match the function of the space. A classroom or office requires different acoustic solutions than a sports hall, hospital, or museum. And in cinemas, concert halls, and theatres, the hall acoustics must be top-notch. An actor who is clearly audible, music that fills the space: it contributes to experiencing a film, concert, or theatre piece.
FROM NEW CONSTRUCTION TO RENOVATION
Our advisors work on new and existing buildings. For new construction, for example, we start with acoustic calculations and simulations based on the building design. And in the case of existing construction or renovation, we start with measuring the reverberation time and reflections in spaces. Then we look at architectural solutions to the problem, such as the shape and size of the space and the use of materials.
