Better safe than sorry
Both in new construction and existing buildings, building physics damage can occur. This is unpleasant for all parties involved. Therefore, it is important to solve the problem as quickly as possible. Our building physics advisors ensure an expert assessment and advice to predict building physics behaviour and prevent damage.
When it comes to building physics behaviour and damage, we are happy to support you in three different areas: research, calculations, and controls.
Research helps to identify the cause of building physics problems – such as moisture damage or drafts. Our advisors specialise in (pre-)assessing the building physics behaviour (heat and moisture) of architectural constructions to prevent problems. We also assist you in conducting building physics research into damage in existing buildings or monuments. And we carry out research in homes into (potential) building physics bottlenecks, often linked to plans for renovation or major maintenance.
To prevent damage, it is important to design a building according to the correct building physics rules. We assist with calculations including the temperature factor of thermal bridges, the thermal performance of structures and building elements (R-value, U-value, Y-value). We also assess the risks of internal condensation in constructions. And we look at architectural details on the relevant building physics requirements (airtightness, thermal bridges, insulation value, and internal condensation).
Once a building is under construction or fully completed, we inspect all building physics aspects, for example by conducting thermographic research or air tightness measurements. You can also come to us for general execution guidance and control on the construction site itself.
