We ensure that traffic noise does not stand in your way
Busy roads or railways near homes can sometimes cause traffic noise. Our advisors in noise and vibration measure, calculate, predict, and investigate traffic noise and come up with suitable solutions. This way, we prevent noise nuisance and create a pleasant living environment.
We offer advice on both existing homes and new construction projects. Our services include calculating or measuring the noise impact in an environment and determining the noise contours. We then proceed with designing noise-reducing measures. This includes reducing noise from vehicles at the facade, as well as applying noise-reducing road surfaces or noise barriers alongside (rail)roads.
Is there a change in the road, such as the construction of a new road or a crossroad becoming a roundabout? Then the noise impact on existing homes in the area may increase. At this point, research into reconstruction noise is necessary. In this acoustic study, we check whether the increase in noise is more than what is legally established. If that is the case, we look for measures to reduce the noise impact. This can be at the level of the noise source (for example, the asphalt) or the noise transmission (for example, a noise barrier). If these measures do not help, we proceed with measurements of the noice abatement of the facade. And if necessary, we advise on appropriate soundproofing measures to protect residents against the increase in noise.
We also consider possible soundproofing measures for homes and buildings in our advice. We work from an integrated approach, with an eye for, for example, building physics aspects. This way, we assist you in sizing and optimising the required soundproofing measures in combination with the necessary ventilation. You can also come to us for the acoustic optimisation of a construction plan.
